Pieridae Energy acquires site for Goldboro LNG

Pieridae Energy informed on Thursday it made several steps forward on its proposed 10 mtpa Goldboro LNG project in Nova Scotia.

The company said in a statement that it has acquired 107.5 hectares of land from the Municipality of the District of Guysborough (MODG) located in the Goldboro Industrial Park to serve as the site for the proposed LNG facility.

Pieridae has also entered into a community benefits agreement with MODG under which it will offer contracts to qualified personnel in the municipality.

It has also revealed that Matt Rees, President of ORLEN Upstream Canada, has been appointed to the Pieridae board of directors. Through its recent acquisition of Kicking Horse Energy, ORLEN acquired a 10.7 percent stake in Pieridae Energy.

Pieridae said it expects to make the final investment decision in late 2016, and that front-end engineering and design (FEED) work continues with its partners E.ON and CB&I.
