PJOE scores Yamal LNG modules construction deal

Jutal Offshore Oil Services said that its associated company, Penglai Jutal Offshore Engineering Heavy Industries has entered into a construction contract with Yamgaz, the general contractor to build modules for Yamal LNG project.

The part awarded to PJOE is package 3 involving total 140,000 tons of three trains of pipe rack modules (including two option trains) with the biggest module being 7,172 tons. The final volume of work will be subject to the confirmation by Yamgaz. The estimated construction period for train one modules is about 24 months. This construction contract is the biggest overseas contract PJOE has ever undertaken.

Yamal LNG project is based in Yamal peninsula in Northern Russia. Novatek owns 60% stake in the Yamal LNG project, while Total and China National Petroleum Corporation each holds 20% stake respectively.

Yamgaz, being the general contractor of Yamal LNG Project, is a consortium composed of Technip (France), JGC (Japan) and Chiyoda (Japan).
