Polskie LNG Rejects Capacity Application

Polskie LNG Rejects Capacity Application

Polskie LNG said that it has rejected the only one submitted application for the allocation of regasification capacity of the Świnoujście LNG terminal.

The deadline for submitting applications has expired yesterday.

Only one application has been submitted by a company interested in entering into a re-gasification contract. Owing to formal errors in the application form submitted by that entity, this application had to be rejected pursuant to procedural regulations.

Consequently, Polskie LNG still offers unallocated LNG regasification capacity of 200 000 Nm3 / h,” Polskie LNG said in a statement.

In mid-November 2011, Polskie LNG launched a procedure of allocating the unallocated capacity of the Świnoujście terminal. The condition of entry in the competition required, inter alia, submitting a duly completed application form for regasification services.

The purpose of publication of the application form along with additional guidelines was to enable the interested parties to request a regasification contract. At the same time, to ensure that all applicants have equal chances in the procedure.

The decision about the allocation of capacity and choice of contractor was to be based primarily on the quality of the offer, i.e. the duration of the contract and the amount of contracted capacity. All the applications submitted after December 30, 2011 were evaluated on the ‘first come first served’ basis,” Polskie LNG said.

The procedure for applying for the allocation of unallocated capacity of the LNG terminal in Swinoujscie concerned nearly 35%, regasification capacity of the plant, which is about 200 thousand Nm3 / h. The remaining 65% of the terminal’s capacity was contracted by the Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo in 2009 under the Open Season procedure.
