LNG throughput volumes at the Dutch Gate terminal decreased 23.9 percent for the first nine months 2016, compared to the same period in 2015.

Data released by the Port of Rotterdam on Monday shows that the total LNG throughput (incoming and outgoing) reached 1.33 million tons for the January-September period, dropping down from 1.75 million tons in 2015.

The drop in LNG throughput has been attributed to the “poorer conditions in the re-export market,” the Port of Rotterdam said.

Gate received 788,000 tons of LNG during the period under review, 26.8 percent lower compared to the 1.07 million tons during the corresponding period in 2015.

LNG re-exports from Gate dropped 19.4 percent to 544,000 tons in the first nine months, the data showed.
