SMM Completes Sines  LNG Work

SMM concluded a project with a value of 19 million euros at the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) REN Terminal, in Sines.

The Terminal expansion foresaw a storage capacity increase, with the erection of one cryogenic tank for LNG, with a capacity of 150.000 m3, as well as the send out capacity increase, with a new send out train and a new truck loading bay.

SMM was responsible for the tank mechanical erection, as well as the process piping and respective equipments, acting as a subcontractor to TGE which, in a partnership with SOMAGUE, was responsible for the EPC (Engineering Procurement & Construction) of the Terminal.

SMM developed its works during 32 months, and the conclusion took place one month ahead of schedule

The works were fully performed by Portuguese engineers, technicians and direct manpower reaching a peak of 150 workers.
