Presque Isle Marina Dredging Set for Next Week

The Presque Isle Marina dredging program is scheduled for May 6, 2013, reports uppermichiganssource.com.

This area will be closed for boaters until July 1.

Regarding this closure, Jon Swenson from the Marquette Parks and Recreation Office, said: “Unfortunately this is the price of progress in order to get things in better shape, boaters, we’re asking to go ahead and use the Cinder Pond Marina. We apologize for the inconvenience that may cause but that’s the facility that’s available at this time.

The Presque Isle Marina development project will include five phases, and dredging is phase one, according to uppermichiganssource.com.

Thanks to a legislation signed by Governor Rick Snyder, Marquette will receive about half a million dollars for the marina development program.
