This has been a very busy month for Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co.,Ltd. (HT) both in terms of new orders and project kick-offs.

Promising Beginning of the Year for Jiangsu Hantong

Namely, HT has received an order for 2+2 208K DWT bulk carriers from a German owner. These vessels will be built and delivered in New Hantong.

This is the first time for Hantong to build large size vessels, nevertheless, as explained by the shipyard, New Hantong plans to focus on this market segment in the near future.

Aside to new orders, the shipyard has begun construction of already ordered vessels. On 21st January 2014, HT held a steel cutting ceremony for 64000 DWT bulk carrier (Hull No:HT64-210),which is being built for Singapore-based ship-owner DASIN. The vessel is classified by Bureau Veritas.

On the following day, 22nd of January 2014, the shipyard cut steel on another 64000 DWT bulk carrier (Hull No:HT64-171), under construction for an English client. The vessel is classified by Nippon Kaiji Kyokai – ClassNK.
