PSA Inspects Drilling and Well Technology Discipline on Songa Trym (Norway)

On 15 November 2012, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit activity within the drilling and well technology discipline on the Songa Trym facility.

The audit is part of the processing related to the application for an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) from Songa Management AS for the Songa Trym facility for carrying out drilling activity on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The objective of the audit activity was to verify regulatory requirements and verify technical conditions on the facility within the relevant disciplines.

Nonconformities were identified in connection with:

– maintenance

– safety functions

– manual chokes

– electrical cables

– cleaning the cement line

Furthermore, one improvement item was identified in connection with cleaning of the drilling fluid tanks.
