Q-Max bound for South Hook LNG terminal

The United Kingdom is scheduled to receive another shipment of Qatari liquefied natural gas next week.

The 266,000 cbm Q-Max LNG carrier Al Mafyar departed from the Ras Laffan port and is heading for the South Hook terminal located on the shore of Milford Haven waterway.

According to the shipping data, the vessel is set to dock at the terminal’s jetty on March 28.

The Q-Max LNG carrier was delivered in May 2009 from Samsung Heavy Industries to its owner Nakilat and chartered on a long-term contract to Qatargas.

The South Hook terminal owned by Qatar Petroleum, ExxonMobil and Total SA can process 15.6 million tonnes of LNG a year and is capable of delivering 21 billion cubic meters of gas a year into the UK’s national transmission system.
