Q-Max carrier heading for South Hook LNG

The 263,000 cbm Q-Max LNG carrier Al Samriya is scheduled to dock at the UK’s South Hook terminal in Milford Haven on August 6.

This will be the second delivery of LNG from Qatar’s Ras Laffan to South Hook in August as the MOL-operated Fraiha is expected to deliver a cargo of the chilled gas two days before.

The Al Samriya left Port Said located north of the Suez Canal on Thursday and is currently sailing offshore Egypt, in the Mediterranean Sea, according to shipping data.

The South Hook terminal, owned by Qatar Petroleum, Exxon Mobil and Total can process 15.6 million tonnes of LNG a year and is capable of delivering 21 billion cubic metres of gas a year into the UK’s national transmission system.
