Qatar ships LNG cargo to Belgium

Fluxys-operated Zeebrugge terminal in Belgium is scheduled to receive LNG cargo from Qatar.

The 165,500 cbm Arwa Spirit LNG carrier departed from Qatar’s port of Ras Laffan on October 10 and is scheduled to dock at Zeebrugge terminal’s jetty on October 25, shipping data reveals.

The Arwa Spirit was built by the South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy in 2008 and was initially part of the Maersk LNG fleet, sailing under the name Maersk Arwa.

In 2011, Teekay LNG Partners and Marubeni joined forces and acquired eight liquefied natural gas carriers from A.P. Moller-Maersk for about $1.4 billion. Upon acquisition, the vessel was renamed to Arwa Spirit.
