Qatargas Aids Somalia Famine Victims

Qatargas has made a donation to Qatar Charity in support of the famine victims in Somalia, which included funds raised at the 13th Golf Open, apart from an additional Qatargas contribution.

A cheque to this effect was handed over by Mansour Rashid Al Naimi, Public Relations Manager, Qatargas, to Ghanim Jaber Al Kubaisi, Public Relations and Fund Raising Director at Qatar Charity.

Commenting on Qatargas support to this cause, Mansour Rashid Al Naimi said:

Qatargas is pleased to support this great cause and extend a helping hand to the people of Somalia at a critical time there. It’s been a legacy for Qatargas to support communities around the world who need immediate assistance. I thank the Qatargas management and all those players and spectators who have come forward to donate generously for this significant cause which will go a long way in taking some burden off the Somalian people. Qatargas is glad to be able to support various activities of Qatar Charity as part of the company’s Corporate Citizenship philosophy that seeks to achieve social development of communities.”

Qatargas had held its annual Golf Open this year at the Doha Golf Club on 3 & 4 December which attracted many professional and amateur players as well as several visitors. Proceeds from the two days’ charity sale at the tournament, plus an additional contribution from Qatargas, have gone to Qatar Charity.

Commenting on the support from Qatargas, Ghanim Jaber Al Kubaisi said:

We are thankful to Qatargas for their continuous interest in activities of Qatar Charity and its constant support for our different projects and initiatives. We value this support very much as a true model for the corporate world to follow and hope that more organisations would come forward to support us or rather enable us to support people around the world. Our commitment is to help create a better life for all hapless people around the world.”
