JBOG Project Celebrates Safety Day

The Qatargas Jetty Boil-off gas (JBOG) Project team recently celebrated its Safety Day at Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC).

Several activities, aimed at promoting a safe working environment and the Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture were held at the Global Village camp in Ras Laffan Industrial City.  The event was organised by the JBOG Project Management Team with support from its contractors, i.e., Fluor, Qcon, Qatar Kentz, Medgulf, Teyseer, Shaqab Abela, G4S and Draieh.

Commenting on the celebration, Sheikh Khalid Bin Abdulla Al-Thani, Qatargas Chief Operating Officer, Engineering & Ventures said:
“Safety is a core value for Qatargas and an integral part of our culture at every level.  The JBOG project has embraced Qatargas’ ‘Incident and Injury Free’ programme from day one.  The project recently achieved yet another significant safety milestone of five million man-hours without any Lost Time Incident (LTI).  I truly appreciate the unrelenting commitment of the entire JBOG Project Management Team and its contractors to ensure that everybody working on the JBOG project goes home safe, everyday.”

The JBOG Project Manager, Bashir Mirza added:
“The JBOG Project Team and our construction contractors have laid the foundations of a safe working system for around 2000 workers building the facilities.  All JBOG team members take responsibility to keep themselves and their fellow workers safe.  I am proud that we have kept our workers safe from serious injury, and that we are all committed to do everything humanly possible to ensure that Everybody Goes Home Safe.  The second JBOG Safety Day was celebrated to thank the workers who have played a huge role in ensuring that we have an excellent safe working environment.  I want to express my sincere thanks to the team which organised this event and the contractors who contributed with their people and ideas to make this celebration a success.”
