Qatari LNG cargo heading for South Hook

The UK’s South Hook liquefied natural gas terminal on the shores of the Milford Haven waterway is scheduled to receive a cargo from Qatar.

The 210,000 cbm LNG carrier Al Karaana departed from Qatar’s port of Ras Laffan and is scheduled to arrive at the 15.6 mtpa import facility on December 19, shipping data reveals.

The Q-max carrier owned by Nakilat was build in 2009 by the South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.

The South Hook terminal, owned by Qatar Petroleum, Exxon Mobil and Total is capable of delivering 21 billion cubic metres of gas a year into the UK’s national transmission system.
