The maintenance period at the Queensland Curtis liquefied natural gas plant has been extended to October 30.

Data filed with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) shows that “greater than one half of an LNG train, but not greater than one LNG train” will be shut down for maintenance.

Data shows that maintenance initially started on October 6 with planned completion on October 23. The data also shows that “greater than one and a half Trains, but not greater than two LNG trains” were scheduled for maintenance from October 9 to October 22.

The latest update shows that the maintenance period for one LNG at most will be shut until October 30.

The two train, 8 million tons per year QCLNG facility on Curtis Island near Gladstone is operated by QGC that became part of Shell when the Hague-based company acquired BG Group in February last year.
