Remontowa to Build Two Ferries for Norwegian Company

One of them concerns construction of two modern car – passenger ferries for the shipping company in Norway. The Owner has significant fleet for serving public transport in Norway. Four shuttle car – passenger ferries built in REMONTOWA SHIPBUILDING are part of them.

To improve his competitiveness the Owner has decided to upgrade and refresh his fleet. Thanks to recognition and good reputation enjoyed by the REMONTOWA SHIPBUILDING S.A. on the Scandinavian market, the Owner entrusted the company with this task.

Delivery of the both vessels is scheduled for the third quarter of 2013.

Contracted ferries of latest generation will be world’s first vessels powered only by LNG fuel. Such resolution will reduce emission of NOx and SOx to the atmosphere.

Ships will support public transport at the coast of Norway. It is anticipated that the delivery of new modern car – passenger ferries will greatly increase the transport capacity.

It is worth to note that these ships will belong to the largest ones in their class which operate in Norway.

An additional advantage will be low service cost of new built vessels due to reduced to minimum number of the crew and fuel consumption.
