Remontowa to construct new AHTS

Poland’s Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A has received an order to build an AHTS vessel for a new client.

The contract for construction of an anchor handling, tug and supply vessel destined to serve in harsh environment conditions was signed on 8th of May 2014.

The vessel will be built for a Canadian – Norwegian joint venture. Upon delivery, the vessel will be chartered by ExxonMobil. The AHTS will be built according to Rolls-Royce Marine design.

ExxonMobil will use the vessel to support offshore operations related to its Hibernia oil platform, located in the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately 315 kilometres east-southeast of St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada, in 80m of water.

Remontowa Shipbuilding has a substantial experience in building offshore support vessels, delivering 40 such vessels over the last decade.
