RenewableUK Shortlists CWind

CWind has become the 100th company to sign the RenewableUK Wind Energy Charter and has just had one of its technicians who is currently working on Avenger, CWind’s amphibious rescue vessel, shortlisted for the RenewableUK Energy Awards Trainee of the Year.

CWind delivers both charter service workboats and highly skilled personnel to the offshore wind industry. Based in Brightlingsea, Essex, CWind works alongside sister companies CTruk Boats and National Wind Farm Training Centre.

The company has just signed-up three new owner-operators to its innovative boat share scheme at Seawork2012, with the skippers scheduled to work on CWind charter contracts on new workboats.

RenewableUK is the trade and professional association for the wind, wave and tidal industries, and its Charter sets out the intentions of the industry to invest in the prosperity and energy security of the UK.

On the signing of CWind, Chief Executive, Maria McCaffery, said: “The 100th signatory to our Wind Energy Charter is a sign that the industry is uniting behind the vision it represents: a future in which wind supplies not only a high percentage of our energy needs, but provides a significant boost to our economy.”
