Report: GNF, BG Group win YPF’s LNG tender

Argentina’s YPF has reportedly closed its tender seeking nine liquefied natural gas cargoes for delivery from January through March.

Citing sources, Reuters reports that Spanish LNG player, Gas Natural Fenosa, was selected to deliver seven cargoes to the GNL Escobar terminal on the Parana River, some 30 miles outside Buenos Aires.

Initially, YPF sought eight cargoes to be delivered to the GNL Escobar terminal, however, the Argentinian energy company has not awarded one cargo.

One cargo, that is to be delivered to the Bahia Blanca import terminal, located some 400 miles south of Buenos Aires with a baseload regasification capacity of 500 mmscf/d will be provided by BG Group.
