Rosmorport’s New Dredger Sets Sail for Rotterdam

FSUE Rosmorport’s new trailing suction hopper dredger Severnaya Dvina has left the Song Thu Corporation shipyard (part of Damen Shipyards Group) in Da Nang, Vietnam, and is now on her way to Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Upon arrival, TSHD Severnaya Dvina will undergo final testing and adjustments prior to her delivery to the buyer.

The vessel, named after the river in the European part of Russia which flows into the Dvina Bay near Arkhangelsk and Severodvinsk, is to join the fleet of Rosmorport’s Arkhangelsk Branch in June.

Following her delivery, the 2,000 m³ Severnaya Dvina will maintain navigational depths and provide safe shipping in the Arkhangelsk Seaport basin and approaches.

The Severnaya Dvina is equipped with a complete Damen Dredging Equipment dredge and instrumentation package including a Ø600 mm trailing pipe and hydraulic winches, a low pressure Damen inboard dredge pump for the most efficient hopper loading process, telescopic overflow and 5 rod-actuated bottom doors.

The vessel, designed for efficient operation and ease of maintenance, will be capable of operating under the temperature range of -35°C up to +40°C.
