RTE France Invites Tenders for Offshore Wind Connection O&M

French transmission system operator RTE has invited tenders for maintenance of the electric structures at sea for offshore wind farms’ connection to the national grid.

The tender is divided in three lots. Lot 1 includes a storage facility for the offshore repair equipment, a boat that will carry out a troubleshooting or preventive survey, maritime equipment to carry out repair on 225kV power cables at sea, on the landfalls and on the producer’s platform. Lot 2 covers electric and optical subsea cables’ repair services and the supply of electrical and optical ‘universal’ accessories for the repairs. Lot 3 represents the contract award for Lots 1 and 2 combined.

RTE said its first studies bring to consider cables’ repair lengths between 1,000m and 2,500m.

Deadline for the submission of bids is 4 January, 2016.
