Russia: Gazprom Starts Production from Nydinskaya Area

Gazprom Starts Production from Nydinskaya area in Medvezhye Field

Gazprom has launched gas production from the Nydinskaya area in the Medvezhye field.

A comprehensive gas treatment unit (CGTU-N) and 20 wells have been put onstream. In 2012 the area will reach the projected output of 2.3 billion cubic meters of gas and over 5 thousand tons of gas condensate per annum upon commissioning of seven additional wells.

“Gazprom is consistently putting onstream new production capacities in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. Meanwhile, we are efficiently exploiting the potential of the existing fields in the Nadym-Pur-Taz by accessing deeper deposits lying below the conventional Cenomanian ones. For instance, this spring we launched gas production from the Valanginian deposits of the giant Zapolyarnoye field and today – from the Apt-Albian deposits of another giant – the Medvezhye field,” commented Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.
