Russia: Laky Verf Launches First Patrol Boat

 

A ceremonial launching of the first patrol boat in a line of Laky Verf patrol vessels was held on 28th of June, 2011. “Patrol-2”, such name was given to a boat designed for the North-West Department of State Marine and River Oversight of Federal Service for the Oversight of Transport.

The Head of this department – Dmitry Yurievich Atlashkin who attended the ceremony, noted that “this boat was what we always wished. Before that, Russia did not build such boats. The ship will order on the river and be a reliable vehicle.”

The launching of the boat was held in accordance with the traditions of the Russian fleet, the chief of the woodworking shop of Laky Verf company – Nadezda Fyodorovna Zheludeva has become a godmother of the boat “Patrol-2”.

A transfer of this boat to the North-West Department of State Marine and River Oversight of Federal Service for the Oversight of Transport is planned on the 11th of July, 2011. Likewise three boats of this series will be built till the end of this year.
