Nevsky Shipyard Lays Keel for Tenth NWS' River-Sea Vessel

On March 28th, 2013 keel-laying for the tenth 7,150 dwt dry-cargo «river-sea» type vessel of project RSD49 (Yard Number 410) took place at Nevsky Shipyard, LLC. The Shipyard is building the vessels for North-Western Shipping Company (NWS), JSC.

The vessels of RSD49 project, developed by Marine Engineering Bureau-Design-SPb, JSC, refer to «Volgo-Don Max» class meeting the requirements for dimensions of Volga-Don Shipping Canal.

Vessels of the series can be used for transportation of general and bulk cargoes including grain, timber, coil, large-dimension and heavy-weight cargoes and hazardous cargoes of classes 1, 1.4S, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.1, 8, 9 of IMDG Code and the Appendix B of the BC Code in the Caspian Sea as well as in the Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Baltic Sea, White Sea, North Sea, including routes around Europe and on the Irish Sea in winter.
