Russian Gazprom Interested in Latin America LNG Projects

Russian gas giant Gazprom is interested in taking part in liquefied natural gas projects in Latin America.

The main area for developing partnership with Latin American partners in the long-term might be Gazprom’s involvement in integrated LNG projects in the region, as well as the implementation of LNG deliveries to Brazil and Argentina,” Pavel Oderov, Head of the International Business Department of Gazprom, said in an interview with Gazprom’s corporate magazine.

Gazprom in november opened its office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Gazprom leads Russia’s only LNG project, Sakhalin-2. Gazprom holds 50% plus 1 share, Shell 27.5%, Mitsui 12.5% and Mitsubishi 10%.
