Russian Gazprom Takes Part in APEC Summit

Led by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, the Company’s delegation is participating in the 23rd annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.

In the framework of the summit Alexey Miller took part, as a member of the Russian Federation delegation, in the meetings of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev with Truong Tan Sang, President of Vietnam; Susilo Bambang, President of the Republic of Indonesia; Najib Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia; Yoshihiko Noda, Prime Minister of Japan.

Background

Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is a forum for 21 Asia-Pacific countries that seeks to promote cooperation in regional trade, investments facilitation and liberalization. APEC works to raise economic growth and prosperity of the region as well as to strengthen the Asia-Pacific community.

APEC member countries with about 40 per cent of global population approximately account for 54 per cent of the world’s gross domestic product and 44 per cent of the world’s trade.
