Russia’s largest producer of steel pipes, TMK said it has delivered another batch of tubular products to Novatek-led US$27 billion Yamal LNG project, finalizing the delivery of shipments contracted for this year.

The shipments were made under a contract the company signed with Yamal LNG in 2014. TMK expects to supply about 48 thousand tonnes of tubular products until the expiration of the contract, which is scheduled in 2020.

Under this long-term contract, 4,700 tonnes of premium pipe have been shipped to the Yamal Peninsula since the start of the year, TMK said in its statement on Wednesday.

“The most recent batch included 178 mm, 245 mm, and 324 mm casing pipes with TMK UP PF and TMK UP FMC connections, 114 mm tubing with TMK UP FMT connections, and crossover subs.”

Yamal LNG project includes the construction of a liquefaction plant with annual capacity of 16.5 million tons per annum based on the feedstock resources of the South-Tambeyskoye field.

The production from the LNG project in the Arctic is expected to start in 2017.
