Sakhalin Energy, SSU partner up

Sakhalin Energy, the operator of Russia’s first LNG export plant, signed recently a strategic partnership agreement with the Sakhalin State University.

The basic provisions of the agreement refer to cooperation in education and scientific activities including training and re-training of oil and gas specialists, arrangement of internship for students, involvement of the university employees for consulting, review and work in the state qualification, certification and examination committees, arrangement and preparation of training courses, the company said in a statement.

Over 300 employees of Sakhalin Energy are graduates of the Sakhalin State University or its divisions. During 10 years students of the Sakhalin State University have the opportunity to undertake internship/pre-graduation internship with Sakhalin Energy. Polytechnic College graduates are the key participants of the internship training programme.

Upon completion of the programme such graduates get the job at the LNG plant, Onshore Processing Facility  or offshore platforms, the company added.
