Sakhalin II LNG export plant’s maintenance complete

Maintenance at the Sakhalin II LNG export facility lasting one month has been completed.

Sakhalin Energy spokeswoman told Reuters that during the one-month maintenance, production declined at the plant.

She added that despite not operating at full 10 mtpa capacity, shipments from the LNG export facility continued.

In 2014 the Sakhallin II project even exceeded its annual design output by producing more than 10 million tonnes of LNG.

The Sakhalin LNG project is a joint venture between Gazprom, Shell, Mitsui, and Mitsubishi.

In mid-June Gazprom and Shell signed a memorandum for the construction of third LNG production train within the Sakhalin II project.
