Samos Steamship, N-KOM Extend Cooperation

Greek shipping company Samos Steamship Co. has extended its cooperation with Qatar’s shipyard Nakilat-Keppel Offshore Marine (N-KOM) as the parties entered into a fleet agreement.

Under the fleet agreement, N-KOM will be the preferred shipyard in the Middle East for repairs of all vessels owned by the shipping firm.

Samos Steamship is an existing client of N-KOM, with several repairs undertaken for their fleet of tankers to date.

With this move, N-KOM and Samos Steamship are strengthening their strategic partnership.

Samos Steamship, which operates a mixed fleet of tankers and bulk carriers, manages a fleet of over 2 million tons with an average age of 7 years.

The company’s fleet consist of 10 bulkers and 12 tankers, ranging from 37,300 dwt to 298,500 dwt.

The shipping firm has four vessels on order at Japan’s Onomichi Dockyard, three of which are scheduled for delivery in 2017, while the fourth is expected to join its owner in 2018, data from VesselsValue shows.
