Samsung Secures Order to Build World's Largest FPSO

Samsung Heavy Industries’ Nigerian subsidiary announces the award of a new order to build an FPSO vessel worth around $3 billion.

The FPSO, being built for an unnamed customer, will become the largest vessel of its kind in the world, and is expected to begin production in 2017.

The vessel will be 330 metres (1,082 feet) long, 61 metres wide and capable of storing up to 2.3 million barrels of oil when completed.

The vessel will be moored offshore Nigeria.
