SapuraKencana nets three deals worth $117 million

Malaysian offshore services provider SapuraKencana has revealed it has, through its subsidiaries, recently secured three contracts worth $117 million in total.

First, SapuraKencana HL Sdn. Bhd. has won a contract to provide hook-up & commissioning works for a compression system and high pressure/high temperature facilities to be installed aboard a Petronas-operated platform, offshore Sabah, Malaysia.

The contract, awarded by Malaysia’s TH Heavy Engineering, is part of Petronas’ Kinabalu Non-Associated Gas (NAG) Development Project.

Under the deal, the contract is for a period of approximately eight months and works are expected to start in the first quarter of 2016.

Furthermore, another SapuraKencana subsidiary, SapuraKencana Drilling Tioman, has been awarded a contract by Shell, to provide its semi tender assist drilling rig “SKD Esperanza”.

The contract is for 18 months with options for Shell to extend for up to a further 18 months.

Also, U.S. oil company Hess, has decided to extend a contract for another SapuraKencana’s tender assist drilling rig –SKD T20– offshore Ivory Coast.

The contract is now expected to be completed in June of 2016, adding to the original contract term. Additionally, there is the option to extend the contract by 5 additional wells, which if exercised, will keep the SKD T20 on contract to the final quarter of 2016, SapuraKencana said.
