‘Seacat Ranger’ Makes Its First Public Appearance

On Friday 30th May, Seacat Ranger, the latest crew transfer vessel from Island based shipbuilders South Boats IOW Ltd, made it’s first public appearance at the “On The Water” event at Cowes Yacht Haven.

The latest design 24m aluminium catamaran, designed and built on the island, was on display for attendees to come aboard and view. Purpose-built to take technicians and heavy payloads out to Europe’s offshore wind farms, the vessel created a lot of interest amongst the dignitaries, marine enthusiasts and everyone else that came along.

The Seacat Ranger will officially be handed over to its new owners, Seacat Services Ltd, at the next week’s Seawork Exhibition in Southampton, where tens of thousands of visitors will get the opportunity to climb aboard the vessel. At the event, South Boats IOW will exhibit its 18m MPI Lucinda and Alicat Workboats will display its latest 23m design, the Dalby Swale, which will also be handed over to its new owners Dalby Offshore Services Ltd during the exhibition.
