Seaway Heavy Lifting Sets Up Galloper OWF Substation

Seaway Heavy Lifting, wholly-owned subsidiary of Subsea 7, has completed installation of the Galloper offshore wind farm substation and associated jacket foundation.

The company’s heavy-lift vessel ‘Oleg Strashnov’ executed the job last Friday, May 12.

Heerema Fabrication Group has manufactured the both components for the 336MW offshore wind farm being constructed approximately 30 kilometers off the coast of Suffolk.

Construction of the Galloper OWF is being led on behalf of the project partners by innogy SE. The project is said to have an investment potential of around £1.5 billion.

The foundations setup for the offshore wind farm was delivered in late March by GeoSea using its ‘Innovation’ jack-up installation vessel.

Subsea power cable installation specialist VBMS is carrying out the cabling works utilising its two vessels the Ndurance and the Stemat Spirit.
