SENER Nabs LNG Plant Construction Contract in Bolivia

Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB) has awarded the SENER-Ros Roca consortium, led by SENER, a contract to design and build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in the town of Rio Grande, Bolivia.

The LNG plant will produce 210 tons per day and provide power supply to 140,000 households in 25 nearby villages, SENER said in a statement.

Within the consortium, SENER, a private engineering and technology group, will carry out all plant engineering activities, being also in charge for project management, procurement and construction, as well as for construction and commissioning management.

The plant is scheduled to begin operations in the second half of 2014.
