SGS to Participate at the Annual Conference and Exhibition “RenewableUK 2010” in Glasgow

From November 2nd through to the 4th, SGS will be attending the Annual Conference and Exhibition “RenewableUK 2010” at the Scottish Exhibition Conference Centre in Glasgow. At stand no. 270A SGS experts will be promoting SGS’s extensive Renewable Energy Services for all phases of the wind farm project life cycle, including Technical Due Diligence, Risk Management, Project Finance, PAS55 Asset Management System Certification as well as Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Management.

The Annual Conference and Exhibition “RenewableUK 2010” is widely regarded as the UK’s premier renewable energy event. Organized by RenewableUK, the UK’s leading renewable energy trade association, the event attracts key leaders from the UK’s wind energy industry. The exhibition encompasses onshore and offshore wind, small wind farm systems as well as wave and tidal energy.

The scope of SGS Renewable Energy Services showcased by SGS UK includes, but is not limited to, Technical Due Diligence, Risk Management, Project Finance, PAS55 Asset Management System Certification as well as Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) Management.

With Technical Due Diligence SGS supports its clients in evaluating the technical feasibility of their project. This is accomplished through a thorough review of all assets and all available data in order to reveal potential areas of concern for the investor.

Another relevant service for wind farm owners is Risk Management. SGS provides quantitative and qualitative risk management services to ensure that the project is executed with minimum risk, enabling project completion on time and within budget.

SGS also offers a full range of Project Finance Services by assisting its clients to manage financial and legal risks, market and political risks, technical and operational risks as well as environmental, social and economic risks throughout the whole project lifecycle and across industry sectors worldwide.

In addition to that, SGS will present PAS55 Asset Management System Certification, a multi-industry Asset Management initiative supported by the British Standards Institute and designed to enable organizations to demonstrate, by a certification process, that its Asset Management program is robust. SGS is one of the few companies which offers PAS55 audit and certification services and helps companies of all sizes to assess and certify their Asset Management system.

Attendees will also have a unique chance to learn more about QHSE Management. SGS provides a third party QHSE consultancy service for onshore/offshore wind farm, PV solar, and tidal energy projects. By implementing its QHSE Management System, SGS ensures both conformity to legal obligations as well as the veracity of any permits required, and so helps prepare companies for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 certification audits.

Visitors will be welcome to discuss any aspects of the many SGS services offered for the renewable energy sector with SGS experts.
