Shelf said on Monday afternoon (CET) that it had secured a six-month contract extension on the High Island VII jack-up rig.

The extension is in direct continuation of its current contract for drilling operations. While Shelf did not name the client in the statement on Monday, the company’s latest fleet status report shows the rig has been operating for ADNOC in the UAE.

According to Bassoe Analytics, the dayrate is around $60,000, and the rig is expected to stay with ADNOC until January 2020.

Worth noting, July is proving to be fruitful for Shelf when it comes to rig contracting. Just last Friday, the company said it had won a contract for the Shelf Drilling Scepter jack-up rig with Chevron in Thailand.

A day earlier Shelf said it had won two-year extensions for Shelf Drilling Tenacious and the Shelf Drilling Mentor jack-up rigs with Dubai Petroleum in the UAE.
