Shell opens more LNG lanes in Texas

Shell said that liquefied natural gas fuel is now available at two additional TravelCenters of America truck fueling stations in Texas, United States.

These stations are located in San Antonio and Dallas and follow on the heels of the opening of Shell LNG fueling lanes in Baytown, Texas as well as Lafayette, Louisiana in March this year. The Baytown, San Antonio and Dallas stations are strategically located in the Texas Triangle, a region with heavy truck traffic, Shell informed in a statement.

Heavy-duty truck fleet owners are beginning to choose LNG fuel over traditional diesel because it can be cost competitive for trucks that cover long distances. It is cleaner than diesel in terms of sulphur, particulates and nitrogen oxides, and can help reduce well-to-wheel greenhouse gas emissions.

Stabilis Energy is the first customer fueling their LNG-powered trucks at the San Antonio site.

As customer demand grows in the US, Shell and TA plan to open additional truck fueling lanes.
