Simek Holds Naming Ceremony for PSV Ocean Scout

Simek shipyard, few days ago, held a naming ceremony for new platform supply vessel of UT 755 LC design named Ocean Scout. The PSV, owned by Atlantic Offshore Delta AS, will be managed by Atlantic Offshore Management AS.

The UT 755 LC is a development of the popular UT 755 series, designed specifically for supplying equipment to oil and gas platforms. The vessel has overall length of 76.60 m, moulded breadth of 16.00 m and 3,150 gross tonnage. Powered by two main engines 2560 Kw RRM Bergen, it can accommodate 32 persons.

Since the first UT 755 was delivered in 1996, more than 170 vessels of this design have gone into service or are on order worldwide. Increasingly efficient hull designs, diesel electric propulsion technology and design solutions that minimise the impact on the environment and improve the comfort and safety of the crew are hallmarks of the newer UT 755 models.
