Siport21 presents FSRU study at Madrid forum

The maritime and port consulting company, Siport21 participated at the Madrid LNG & Shipping Forum 2014. 

The company presented a study named “Nautical Studies and Risk Analysis for the development of FSRU-LNG Terminals. From basic design to training of seafarers”.

Siport21 says it has developed numerous studies related to LNG terminals, either conventional or involving FSRU technology. In particular, the company participated in the start-up of the Bahia Blanca terminal, the first commercial FSRU terminal in the World. Today, it has worked in eleven similar projects around Brazil, Argentina, Ukraine, Panama, Colombia, Lithuania and Pakistan.

During the presentation, Siport21 has explained several outstanding aspects of these projects: navigable areas, feasibility of the design vessels, operational limits, manoeuvring strategies, tug requirements, dredging optimization, risk analysis and seafarers training (Pilots, Captains, Tugmasters). This work is based on specialized staff, own methodology -totally validated- and last generation simulation tools, Siport21 said in a statement.
