Skuld Boosts Tonnage

Oslo-based mutual marine insurance company Skuld has signed additional 10 million Gross Tonnes (GT) following the mutual P&I renewals which were completed on February 20. 

Skuld says the outcome of the 2015 mutual P&I renewals reflected growth in all markets for the company, particularly in Scandinavia and Asia. In addition, there was a strong entry of charterers and FDD insurance.

Ståle Hansen, Skuld President and CEO, said: “The 2015 renewals demonstrate that we have a solid base of loyal members who not only renew their policies with Skuld but who also bring new tonnage into the club. On top of that, attracting new and high-quality members and welcoming some previous members back proves that Skuld is an attractive partner in the marine insurance market.”

On the commercial P&I side Skuld saw particularly strong growth in the Asian offshore portfolio.
