SNC-Lavalin makes managerial changes. Names COO

SNC-Lavalin, Canada-based engineering and construction group has announced that it is making several organizational changes to drive operational execution.

Neil Bruce, previously President of the Resources, Environment & Water group at SNC-Lavalin, was appointed to the newly created position in the company, Chief Operating Officer.
This appointment is effective immediately and the position is headquartered in Montreal, Canada. Neil Bruce will continue to report to Robert G. Card, President and CEO.

The company said that this position was created to further improve and drive operational execution while focusing on delivering on business plan and meeting the commitments to shareholders, employees and other stakeholders.

Speaking of Neil Bruce’s appointment, Robert G. Card, President and CEO said: “I would like to congratulate Neil Bruce on his appointment. He has been an outstanding addition to the SNC-Lavalin executive team since he joined in 2013, has held the position of COO in his prior career, and is widely respected for his experience, leadership and strong client focus. He led the acquisition and very successful integration of Kentz and will add significantly to our operational execution capabilities as our COO.”

According to the company, other changes included appointing of José Suárez, previously Executive Vice president, Integrated Management Systems into the position of Executive Vice President, Mining & Metallurgy, while Dale Clarke, previously Executive Vice president, Mining & Metallurgy is appointed Executive Vice President, Integrated Management Systems, reporting to Robert G. Card.

In addition, Hisham Mahmoud and Christian Jacqui will move on to the next steps in their careers, and will be leaving the company on May 1 and May 31, respectively.

Furthermore, Rejean Goulet, Executive Vice President and General Counsel, has announced his retirement from the company after having 30 years spent with the company. The company said to conduct a worldwide search for Goulet’s replacement.

Commenting on other managerial changes, Robert G. Card added: “I want to thank Hisham Mahmoud and Christian Jacqui for their leadership and strong expertise in their respective fields, which greatly benefitted the company. They each tackled very challenging parts of the business, created efficient structures and world-class teams, and prepared the groundwork to help the company continue moving forward towards reaching its goals. I would also like to thank Réjean Goulet for his many important contributions and for his resilience while the company worked through its various challenges.”
