South Hook terminal awaits more Qatari LNG

South Hook LNG terminal on the shores of the Milford Haven waterway is scheduled for a new delivery of Qatari cargo.

The Al Samriya LNG carrier, with a capacity of 263,000 cubic metres, is due to dock at the South Hook terminal on March 15, port data reveals.

According to recent reports, Qatargas shut down its fourth liquefaction train due to scheduled maintenance which could mean that the UK’s import terminal could receive fewer cargoes during the month of March, although this delivery is expected only two days after the Q-Flex LNG carrier Al Gharrafa delivers it’s cargo.

South Hook can provide up to 20 percent of UK’s natural gas needs. It has the capacity to process 15.6 million tonnes of LNG and is capable of delivering 21 billion cubic metres of gas a year into the UK’s national transmission system.
