South Korea January LNG Imports Spike

South Korea, the world’s second-largest buyer of LNG, imported 3.98 million tonnes of LNG in January, up 38% from the same month in 2012, customs data showed.

The country  imported 4.3 million tonnes of LNG in December.

South Korea paid $3.07 billion for the LNG imported in January, compared with $1.99 billion a year earlier.
