The 1:6 scale multi-turbine platform started generating first kilowatts of electricity at the end of May at the Astican Shipyard before going to PLOCAN.

W2Power is developed by a consortium in which EnerOcean is coordinating the full project and Ghenova is supporting the naval engineering works and coordination of sea testing.

Ingeteam is in charge of the electrical engineering and TensionTech of mooring solutions and other key engineering.

The full-scale multi-turbine platform can feature two turbines with a respective capacity of 6MW which can offer greater power generation without increasing use of steel in construction.

This project has received funding from the Era-Net DEMOWIND with co-funding from CDTI (Spain), Department of Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (UK), and European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program.
