Spotted: New Supramax Joins Norden

Spotted New Supramax Joins NORDEN

Danish shipping company Norden has sent its new Supramax Dry Cargo vessel Nord Missouri on its maiden operation.

The vessel was delivered to the company from Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co.(MES), Chiba, Japan.

Nord Missouri departed the shipyard at 16:00 local time, November 25, on her maiden voyage to Prince Rupert, Canada to load a cargo of wood pellets for UK via the Panama Canal.

Nord Missouri is the second and last Supramax ordered by Norden in 2013 from Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES).

Norden recently announced that it will switch its focus to ownership of four vessel types under its newly adopted strategy “Focus and Simplicity”.

Under the strategy, within dry cargo, Norden will specialize in ownership and operation of Supramax and Panamax vessels, and within tankers, the vessel types Handysize and MR will continue to be in focus.
