On September 24, 2016, Swedish tanker owner Terntank named the Tern Sea and the Tern Ocean, the last two in a series of four 15,000 dwt chemical tankers with dual-fuel two-stroke engines ordered at Avic Dingheng shipyard in China.

The vessels are still under construction and will be delivered later this year and at the beginning of the next year, according to Terntank.

The tankers feature a length of 147 meters and a width of 22 meters.

On June 28, the company added the first chemical tanker in the series, the Ternsund, to its fleet. The vessel is intended for distributing refined oil products from NEOT’s refinery in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Earlier this month, the company took delivery of the second 15,000 dwt tanker, the Ternfjord, which will be chartered to ExxonMobil, Norway, distributing refined oil products from ExxonMobil’s refinery in Slagentangen, Norway to customers along Norway’s coastline.
