Statoil Gets Green Light For Plugging of Well in Norwegian Sea Using Scarabeo 5 Rig

Statoil has been granted consent to use the mobile facility Scarabeo 5 for permanent plugging of well 6506/11-A-3H in the Norwegian Sea.

The well is part of production licence 134B/C and is located on Morvin, about 20 kilometres north of the Kristin field and 15 kilometres west of the Åsgard field. The water depth in the area is approx. 340 metres.

Scarabeo 5 is a mobile drilling facility built in Italy at the Fincantieri Shipyards Genoa, completed in 1990. It is operated by Saipem Norwegian Branch (Saipem).
