Statoil given PSA consent to improve facilities at Hammerfest LNG terminal

Petroleum Safety Authority of Norway has given Statoil consent to construct a new logistics and maintenance building on Melkoya for Hammerfest LNG terminal.

The construction works entail removing existing buildings, land preparation and building new storage and accommodation facilities as well as new workshops. Hazardous waste storage and disposal facilities will be built and work on reconstructing existing facilities will be also carried out according to the PSO’s statement.

Earlier in September PSA carried out an audit of technical and operational safety noting several points of improvement at the facility.
