Statoil ships two Hammerfest LNG cargoes
Statoil’s Hammerfest liquefaction and export facility in Norway shipped one cargo of the chilled fuel each to the Netherlands and Spain.
The 147,980-cbm Arctic Princess departed from the export facility on Melkøya island on Monday and is set to deliver its cargo to Dutch Gate LNG terminal in the Port of Rotterdam on July 8, according to AIS data provided by the vessel tracking website, MarineTraffic.
Enagas-operated Barcelona LNG terminal in Spain is scheduled to receive Norwegian LNG on July 10 onboard the 148,000-cbm Arctic Lady, the data shows.
Statoil’s Hammerfest facility is currently Europe’s biggest liquefaction plant and uses gas from the Snøhvit ( Snow White) field in the Barents Sea. The Arctic gas is sent ashore through a 143 kilometer long pipeline to Melkøya near Hammerfest.
The plant has the capacity to produce 4.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of the chilled fuel.
